In 1950, Everett Squires introduced Southern Materials Company, an electrical and plumbing wholesaler, to Springfield, Missouri. In 1966, Southern Materials Company became an Allen-Bradley distributor, and in 1975, the company established SMC Electric Supply. Since then the company continues to expand locations and product selection, which now serves customers in fifteen locations throughout Missouri and Kansas.
The SMC team includes over 150 employees who range from Account Managers, Technical Specialists, Inside Support and Warehouse who understand many business types including Automation / OEM Industrial / MRO / Electrical Commercial Data Comm / Security Education / Government / Healthcare / Utility.
