History

It was 1950 when Everett Squires introduced Southern Materials Company, an electrical and plumbing wholesaler, to Springfield, Missouri.

The company separated into two entities in 1975, forming SMC Electric Supply. With exponential growth, product expansion and the additions of the Data Comm, Industrial and Safety lines, SMC Electric Supply is now SMC, serving customers in fourteen locations throughout Missouri and Kansas.
